I Wish I Could Show You … the Astonishing Light of Your Own Being

I have a good friend who has been going through a tough time lately. Besides being sick, she has been dealing with an overwhelming sense of the blahs. Having those blahs myself on occasion, I can empathize with how she feels. (*sends out huge hugs*) We all have our moments of being down, of feeling lost or alone, of thinking that there’s no hope. The thing to remember is that you aren’t the only person who feels that way.

Good Food and a Warm Kitchen are What Makes a House a Home

I love doing decor posts. Setting up all the things I’ve collected at different events and making a pretty room to sit in and enjoy. (I’ve probably mentioned this before I’m sure.) For this post I’ve done a kitchen, mostly centering around the kitchen set and items from Dust Bunny that you can get at this round of The Season’s Story, but there are things I picked up at FaMESHed and Chapter 4 as well. The list of what’s what and where to get them is below…

Stories Make Us More Alive, More Human, More Courageous, More Loving

“People think that stories are shaped by people. In fact, it’s the other way around.”
~ Terry Pratchett

I took a look at the Destination Guide the other day and found StoryBrooke Gardens so I decided to take a look. Before I headed over there I swung by We ❤ Roleplay and picked up the newest fairy outfit from Evie’s Closet. I love Evie’s Closet – just saying.

There are a bunch of little areas to explore and sit and talk, each one super cute with little animals and fairies like snapshots in a kid’s storybook. (And yay for using gacha stuff!) I’m not in the way of feeling overly talkative so this is short and sweet, but go take a look at all the pretties…

Sometimes, You Have to Stop Thinking So Much and Just Go Where Your Heart Takes You

… Last night I woke up cold
And I walked right out into the dark
And eight hundred reasons why kept flying into my eyes
Wish I could say that I killed ’em dead
But they’re just much bigger than I

It’s all over your eyes
There’s nothing you can do
I’m coming out my skin tonight
So tell me if you’re ready or not …

… And maybe maybe
You’re gonna save me
Maybe maybe
But I don’t know

The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings

It’s far too easy to forget that we have so many things to be thankful for in our lives. Jobs ending, relationships gone bad, never seeming to have enough of what we want… things like those all tend to weigh so heavily on us we have a difficult time remembering the things we do have. I am as guilty of that as the next person. I have to make a conscious effort at times to take a step back and look at the big picture and all that I do have, instead of focusing on the little pictures of what I don’t.

Nerd? I prefer the term “Intellectual Badass”

It’s that time again… (or will be in about an hourish) … time for Geeks’n’Nerds 2014! I got an early invite, along with the rest of the SL Blogger group, to check out the offerings on blogger day. Ironically, I’ve had these pictures done for hours but got distracted – first by a book and then by re-watching episodes of Firefly – in true nerd fashion.
