Time to go pumpkin hunting

Just a super quick “get another Arcade pic done” post before I head out for the evening to do some trivia and whiskey tasting. My friends and I are instituting a “Whiskey Tasting Wednesday” once a month. It’s a thing. Anyways, this round of the Arcade close tonight. You’ve got – *checks the clock* – 5ish more hours to get your fill until it comes back on December 1st.

Play in the dirt because life is too short to always have clean fingernails

Your mind is a garden.
Your thoughts are the seeds.
You can grow flowers
or you can grow weeds.

It’s been quite a while since I last blogged. Life happenings and obligations have kept me pretty busy and I’m now just settling back in to a (vaguely) normal routine. I’ve learned that sometimes life just keeps pushing ahead while you’re dragging your feet and wanting to stay put. But I’m nothing if not resilient, so now I’m doing the pushing. So far, I like it much better that way. 😉 Continue reading “Play in the dirt because life is too short to always have clean fingernails”

There is No Love Sincerer Than the Love of Food

I love food in SL. The little food items that stores make and sets you can buy in gachas (and out) are some of the first things I snatch up when I start my buying sprees. Right now Atelier Kreslo has a Farewell Bake Sale going on  and there are a bunch of yummy little treats to enjoy. The event runs through February 13th so you have some time to go pick up some of the things in these pics yourself.

For this post I used the items I picked up at the Farewell Bake Sale as well as other things that I’ve picked up at Atelier Kreslo here and there (like the Donut Festival) and filled it in with other stuff I had stashed away in my closet. All in all, it turned out to be a little tucked away bakery / coffee shop that I would love to just hang around in myself.  [NOTE: This post is a tad pic heavy.]

Christmas Cookies & Happy Hearts, This is How the Holiday Starts

One of my favorite things to do during the holidays when I was a kid was to make cookies with my mom. I think I probably ate more cookie dough than anything else (Butterscotch chip cookies=best EVER!), but what I really loved about it was the time we got to spend together making goodies for all the parties and get togethers that happen during the holidays.

The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings

It’s far too easy to forget that we have so many things to be thankful for in our lives. Jobs ending, relationships gone bad, never seeming to have enough of what we want… things like those all tend to weigh so heavily on us we have a difficult time remembering the things we do have. I am as guilty of that as the next person. I have to make a conscious effort at times to take a step back and look at the big picture and all that I do have, instead of focusing on the little pictures of what I don’t.

When Witches Go Riding, and Black Cats are Seen, the Moon Laughs and Whispers, ‘Tis Near Halloween

WARNING – this post is really picture heavy…  🙂

A friend of mine put up his Stockholm & Lima barn from the last round of the Arcade and asked me to decorate. I think maybe,  well, I went a little overboard. Okay, so I went A LOT overboard. I just had so much STUFF from a bunch of different events that are ending at the end of the month that I wanted to do posts for. And between kids, boyfriend, work and getting sick – time has just gone by so fast. Anyways, less blabber – more pictures.
