This time of year, while being my favorite season (Fall), drives me crazy. Having the sun set before 5-5:30 PM in the evening sets my internal clock all kinds of out of whack. With the countdown to Thanksgiving here in the states at a little over a week and a half left, I’ve been searching through recipes by the dozens – looking for something unique to try this year. It’s a little thing my friends and I do each year, have a little Turkey Day cook off. This year – I intend to win. 🙂
It’s been a while since I did a purely decor post. I got so many decorative pieces from the creators in the Fantasy Gacha Carnival and I wanted to highlight some of them on their own. Everything you see in these pics – except for the skybox itself – is from FGC. I decided to put together an astronomer’s room / office. Take a closer look below:
When I saw the set Kibitz had made for Fantasy Gacha Carnival this time my first thought was – Scheherazade. She who married a king and was saved from death by keeping him intrigued with tales she told each night. That’s the simplified version. Of course my brain works in a disjointed, yet related way and had me leap from Scheherazade to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, from Ali Baba to the Aladdin, and now I have “Friend Like Me” from the Disney version of Aladdin stuck in my head. See how that works? Completely understandable, right?
I admit it. I am kind of a sci-fi geek. Maybe a little more that “a little.” I grew up watching Star Trek with my dad. My favorite movie is The Fifth Element. I read Lois McMaster Bujold. Sci-fi is love. Just saying. So when I saw this coat from Sweet Lies I thought – and this is where the little light bulb clicks on over my head – Jupiter Ascending. While it may not be the most brilliant of stories , the movie sure did have some serious eye appeal. (And no, I am not just talking about Channing Tatum.)
Fantasy Gacha Carnival is almost here and let me tell you, are there some truly beautiful and fantastic things coming your way. SO. MANY. SHINY. THINGS. The theme for this round is Silver, Gold – Angels and the Dark Side of the Moon. For my first FGC post I nabbed this set from FDD Stories. I put in on and felt like a fantasy version of Wonder Woman. Funnily enough, a friend of mine said the same in voice to me as I was thinking it when I put this on. 😀
… even death could never tear us apart.
Halloween is fast approaching. As it gets closer I find myself making plans for the holiday and keeping traditions I keep every year. Things like going apple picking or to the pumpkin patch and watching Halloween-ish movies like Hocus Pocus and Don’t Look Under the Bed. In SL there’s Havenhollow and gacha style trick or treating just to name a couple of things. With both Wayward Halloween and TAG! Gacha going on at the moment, we gacha lovers are inundated with treats and in my case – a need for all the “shiny” things. 🙂
