Follow your heart but take your brain with you

This year’s Skin Fair is just about done. I was given one more skin preview that I’d gotten from a creator participating in the fair and I wanted to show her off before time runs out. The event runs through March 29th – so make sure to head down before all the exclusive to the Skin Fair skins are gone forever. Continue reading “Follow your heart but take your brain with you”

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for the future

As long as we have memories, yesterday remains.
As long as we have hope, tomorrow waits.
As long as we have love, today is beautiful.

Happiness Often Sneaks in a Door You Did Not Think was Open

… And I don’t want to wait
I just want to know
I just want to hear you tell me so
Give it to me straight
But tell it to me slow

Cause maybe someday
We’ll figure all this out
Try to put an end to all our doubt
Try to find a way to just feel better now and
Maybe someday we’ll live our lives out loud
We’ll be better off somehow
Someday…

We Can Never Obtain Peace in the Outer World Until We Make Peace With Ourselves

“The worst battle you have to fight is between what you know and what you feel.”

Life is a learning experience. That experience can be both a joyful one or a painful one, or anything in between the two, and often simultaneously. Sometimes you realize that the biggest obstacle you have in learning and growing or moving forward, is yourself. For personal reasons – I won’t go into them here – I’ve been in a battle with myself as of late.

When I saw the topic of Berry Singh’s Monday Meme this week, I saw it as an opportunity to focus on some of the positive in my life. The challenge is to share things that you’ve learned as a result of your time and experience in Second Life, whether the reasons are personal or professional, whatever those “lessons” have taught you.

We must change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden

…When the storm comes,
You shelter me.
And I don’t say a word,
And you know exactly what I mean.
In the darkest times,
You shine on me.
You set me free.
And keep me steady as we go…

Troubles they may come and go,
But good times be the gold.
So if this road gets rocky babe,
Just steady as we go.

Sometimes I just don’t have words when I’m in a mood so I let songs speak for me. Today is one of those days. ❤  I wanted to share some of the goodies I picked up at the blogger preview for the Shiny Shabby event that is opening in just about an hour. Man, is there a lot to love, take a look!

If You’re Looking for Trouble, You’ve Hit the Jackpot

After close to six years in Second Life, you would think there’s not too many things I haven’t done. What’s great is that I keep finding out that’s not true. Since I started blogging I’ve had to reach beyond my little sphere of knowledge and the experience has been a fun one. Exploring new places, meeting new people and trying new things – that saying ‘you learn something new everyday’ can certainly apply to SL. In fact, just a few days ago, I was told I was trouble for the first time in like, ever. Funny how that made me proud. (And hence the blog post title.)

For this week’s Monday Meme, Berry posed a series of “Have you ever…?” questions about what a person has, or has not, done in SL. Some of her questions had me remembering times in the past that I had a ton of fun and makes me want to do them again (like skydiving!). You can see Berry’s Monday Meme here. My answers are below…
