Just a super quick “get another Arcade pic done” post before I head out for the evening to do some trivia and whiskey tasting. My friends and I are instituting a “Whiskey Tasting Wednesday” once a month. It’s a thing. Anyways, this round of the Arcade close tonight. You’ve got – *checks the clock* – 5ish more hours to get your fill until it comes back on December 1st.
Today is the first day of Autumn. (For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere anyways.) There were several times that I thought about starting up my blogging again and as this day approached I thought – why not? Autumn is my favorite season of all, though I usually refer to it as “Fall”. (And no, the rhyme there was not intentional.)
And by tea party I mean we are drinking whiskey from tea cups.
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories. I always liked the idea of ‘escaping’ to a world of your own making, where nothing makes sense. Come to think of it, though the world is not one I made myself – it’s the same in the not making sense part. At least part of the time. lol
At this round of the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, 22769 has a Mad Hatter Tea Party set in one of their gachas. So naturally I had to get it.
I love food in SL. The little food items that stores make and sets you can buy in gachas (and out) are some of the first things I snatch up when I start my buying sprees. Right now Atelier Kreslo has a Farewell Bake Sale going on and there are a bunch of yummy little treats to enjoy. The event runs through February 13th so you have some time to go pick up some of the things in these pics yourself.
For this post I used the items I picked up at the Farewell Bake Sale as well as other things that I’ve picked up at Atelier Kreslo here and there (like the Donut Festival) and filled it in with other stuff I had stashed away in my closet. All in all, it turned out to be a little tucked away bakery / coffee shop that I would love to just hang around in myself. [NOTE: This post is a tad pic heavy.]
I believe that dreams come true,
If you wish for a dream by a wishing well,
Don’t tell your wish or you’ll break the spell,
It may sound naive, but that’s what I believe…
This time of year always seems to be so busy – shopping, planning, parties… when I finally get a chance to sit and relax it’s usually sitting on my comfy couch with a fuzzy red blanket and only the lights of the Christmas tree on and either a book or the remote for the TV in my hand. And that’s only for as long as I can stay awake.
It’s far too easy to forget that we have so many things to be thankful for in our lives. Jobs ending, relationships gone bad, never seeming to have enough of what we want… things like those all tend to weigh so heavily on us we have a difficult time remembering the things we do have. I am as guilty of that as the next person. I have to make a conscious effort at times to take a step back and look at the big picture and all that I do have, instead of focusing on the little pictures of what I don’t.
